A Message From Your County Clerk
I can hardly believe it has already been a year since I took office. A lot has transpired,
including an emergency re-assessment of commercial and farm property in Boone County. The
County Clerk's office was able to process all the paperwork for appointments and final decisions
of the Local Board of Assessments. With the effort of all our special districts, the tax bills
still went out by October 1st.
The Florence office continues to get more business and has added a Property Valuation Administration
employee in the office to better accommodate the customer(s). Improvements to the Burlington
office should start this year as the Fiscal Court helps relieve our overcrowding with more space.
The Voter Registration department is busier due to the presidential election. We have seen a
growth in registered voters from approximately 62,000 to 74,000. Remember to vote in the Primary
election on Tuesday, May 20th and again in the General election on Tuesday, November 4th.
The Real Estate department will see older records preserved and microfilmed for easier researching.
This will be achieved through a grant with the Department of Libraries and Archives and will include
old plats, wills, estate records, and slave records.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the employees, who make the office a great success.
I also look forward to another year of service to the people of Boone County.
